Computers support campaign
Computer support programme Around 85 % of the population of Nepal lives in rural areas, with a literacy rate of nearly 52% in total. In these underprivileged regions, still Radio is the main source of information and entertainment as still they don’t have easy access of televisions and newspapers. Less than 10% of population have access to the internet that mostly based in urban areas. However, a couple of rural villages are connected by wireless internet but many of the villagers are very far what is computer and how its looks like. As we are aware of Information communication Technologies (ICTs) are tool for development and engine for growth. To implement this amazing technology into a couple of areas, this small campaign will help toward computers distribution for youth and student. Many of them can’t use due to the lack of electricity even through our aim is to offer computers for them so that at least they will have chances to touch and see what all about the computer machine. Objective: • To provide computers in villages up to 4 areas (Equal access through ICT) • To encourage specially young people towards social sector Implement 4 computers will provide as below • School in Nuwakot District • Library in Near Kathmandu • Tele Medicinal Centre • Youth Club in Lamjung or Elder association Sponsor: You Our campaign offers you to become a sponsor. Just ignore KFC, Mc, chicken n chip or Coffee (around £5) for one day towards increase our fund. Our target is to collect £5 per person however if anyone wish top up their donation, we love to accept. Information society: a modern population that is familiar with – and reliant upon – information and communications technology. The digital divide: Concern is growing that society may eventually become divided into two distinct groups. • One group will be made up of those who have access to technology and are able to obtain information via the Internet. • The other will be made up of those who are unable to gain access to technology and information. Once you click, its display new page where in the top you can see ‘Contribution to Support Computers by Youth’ and ‘Unit Price’; now you have to mention the amount you wish to donate in the unite price and click in the ‘update Totals’. It will display another page, If you have paypal then log in but if u don’t have then just click Sign up for a PayPal account and continue checkout which you can see this in left hand side. Again you will see new pages with selection option of country and payment method. In the payment method you have to choose either its master or visa or solo card. After your card selection, will ask about card number and expire date with security code. Similarly, you have to provide the billing information. It’s up to you either you have to make PayPal account or not. Just click in the bottom agree and continue. That’s it. Solution You can contribute to a ChipIn event using an international credit card by doing the following: 1. Choose PayPal as your payment method when you arrive at the contribution page. 2. When you arrive at PayPal's login screen, follow the "Click here" link next to "Don't have a PayPal account?" 3. When you arrive at PayPal's Billing Information page, under "Credit or Debit Card Information" select the country from which your card was issued. 4. Proceed with PayPal’s remaining billing questions and you will be able to use your international credit card to contribute to ChipIn events.
