Partial achievement of political effort in Nepal
Lack of farsightedness and inappropriate policy, diplomacy and strategies of the political leader of Nepal, all we are getting through the bloody revolution is in fact an incomplete achievement. In the whole world, Nepalese people are regarded as the brave, gallant and faithful but it also equally true that they are less conscious, inactive and can be easily convinced by any political parties. Political leader and people are the part of a horse cart in which leaders can be regarded as the rider who shows the direction, the people can be regarded as horse that have got supreme power to pull the cart and cart can be regarded as the nation which is the ultimate goal of both people and political leaders to lead it in better way.
Sustainable peace and development hasn’t been achieved yet because of the above mentioned fact. It’s worthless to say that our country is developing or emerging and to say it a peace zone is also a great stupidity still. There were various weaknesses of people and other political leaders in past as well as at present which has been remaining as the hurdles of our country and ultimately lead people like me to express such a subject matter in my diary as my opinion
So as to eradicate the autocratic and tyrannical rule of Ranas, a great revolution was broke out for the first time in the history of Nepal in 2007B.S. Influence of the Indian war of independence, French war of independence and American war of independence and from guidance of our leaders and courageous martyrs, the revolution reaches the climax and its consequence for the eradication of the Ranas regime and formation of democratic nation with multiparty system. Democracy was obtained by the high cost of blood of the martyrs but it doesn’t last more that ten years. In 2017B.S. King Mahendra made a royal proclamation addressing the people for implementation “Panchayat” system in the country. He also raised issue that the authority of the nation has been misused for the individual profit instead of betterment of the people and that issue became strong evidence and cause to implement the “Panchayat” system which was not in favor of the people.That was the great leakage and weakness of the Nepalese people and leaders in the political history and the dream of our martyrs wasn’t fulfilled.
Not only in 2007B.S. but 40 years later, same mistake was repeated in our country. Many people of our country including enormous participation of the youth succeed the revolution 2046B.S. in the cost of the blood of the brave martyrs again. The objective of the revolution was to eliminate “Panchayat” system and its consequence co-incident to it, the restoration of democracy and multiparty system was introduced. However, the consequences of that revolution is not regarded appropriate for the people but it was very suitable for royal families and members since constitution formed after that was in favor of king. Formation and raise of extremist party like Maoist takes place as they weren’t satisfied with the consequence of the “Peoples movement 2046”.Maoist was formed with the primary motive of forming the republican form of government which wasn’t obtained in 2046B.S. The then king wasn’t ready to dissolve all his power. Then, Maoist started to demonstrate their violation by attacking police station, assassination of leaders of others party, compulsive donation, demolishing the pre-requisites of development, etc.
After Royal Massacre on 2058B.S. Mr.Gyanendra Shah became the king on representative of late king Birendra’s closest relatives. He took over all the powers and authority of the country. Even the head of the army was himself. He had reminded us the period of Ranas. At his time, all the roads were emptied on the way where the royal families desired to go. No matter it was the serious problem of the people, all the roads were closed for a single short destination of the king or his relatives. Maoist boost up their violent activities which accompany the king Granada to address them as terrorist and apply the army all over the country. Then, internal war between Maoist and army takes place. Many member of either sides were killed and it’s too miserable to hear that a lot of innocent people were killed between the cross fire. Realizing the reality that violence is not a solution of any crisis, the leaders of Maoist like Prachanda, Baburam, Badal, etc. decided to move peace form of revolution joining with other political parties which we call the “Peoples’ movement 2062/63B.S.”. After 19 days, struggling with tear gases, bullets and other weapons of security force and its result for 22 casualties, the revolution was succeeded. The king made royal proclamation in which he hands over all the power and authority of country to people. All the powers of king were seized but still republican form of government hasn’t been established yet. King is still a king and Nepal is still called as kingdom. The leaders of the parties who are in the power are still making delay. Blood of people may spill again if the republican form of government is formed as soon as possible.
There may be possibility of another deadly revolution if the monarchial system isn’t completely dissolved. King can sue us any time as he did in February, 2005A.D. by taking all the powers in his hand illegally. He is also regarded as the master planner of royal massacre at 2001A.D.and has criminal record in Nepal for smuggling idols and antique sculptures for sale abroad, before he became king. Let us all unite to create a storm of struggle to sweep away the feudal regime of King Gyanendra Shah and it's our appeal to the parliamentary political parties to unite against the feudal autocrat King Gyanendra Shah and forge a concrete understanding for struggle in order to lead the Nepalese masses in unified way.
If we see the world history, a single revolution of people before centuries is still working these days. The constitution made before centuries ago is still suitable and implemented. American war of independence war the first revolution ever in the world history against the system and management of the country. French revolution was held after that against the autocratic and selfish ruler of the country. Indian war of independence was led by many fine leaders like Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, etc. to eliminate external control over their country. After the success of those revolutions, no other revolution was needed to take place in each of the country mentioned above. But in our country, three revolutions take place and there is also possibility of another revolution but we haven’t achieved what we actually want and need.
To make a drastic change concerning about the system of government, numbers of thorny days has to be passed and blood of the martyrs has to be flown. Despite of all that, we are getting success that is only suitable for short period of time. Beside every revolution, severe mistakes and weaknesses have been found. Democracy was introduced for the first time in 2007B.S. after the gory revolution but it last just for ten years. After that the “Panchayat” system was implemented with all authority to king and no any political parties and no election. Clashing against that system saying that it was not in favor of people, another revolution was broke out in 2047B.S. which finally re-introduced the democracy in Nepal. But again king Gyanendra took all the powers in his hand. Then the great revolution takes place in 2062B.S. for objective to form the republican form of government. After the movement of people, all the powers of king were cut off but our country is not called as republican country. There is still controversies at national and international level that whether the republican government will form or not. But much effort has been made in the field of politics, making awareness campaign through media, etc. to form the republican form of government in our country. Leaders are still making delay about the formation of the new constitution of our country. The constitution which may be suitable and better to the people should be made this time rather than that made after the revolution 2046B.S.
The power of the country should be divided. There will be the autocracy in the nation if all the powers of the nation go to ones hand. The monarchy is the root of all problems of Nepal and the root cause of the Nepali people's suffering and misery. Monarchy always is not in favor of people but in the favor of king and royal families. We should understand that the power should be in the hand of one who is elected by us but not on the hand of one who get the title when he is born as eldest son of the king. So it’s the time that all the Nepalese people should united by forgetting all the internal difference so as to get rid of the self-centered monarchial system from our country.
When we look back to our history, many martyrs easily sacrificed their lives against the self-willed and inappropriate rulers to show us the right direction and track for development and smooth running of the country. We should obey their order and suggestion and move in the path traced out by them. Whatever we have get freedom include the life of the martyrs, whatever we are breathing include the spirit of the martyrs and whatever we are eating include the blood of martyrs. Only remembering the martyrs at the special occasion is not the complete task of us. We should make their dream come true. Not only to be brave but to be loyal, dedicated and faithful to the country is the moral that we should get from the martyrs. The soul of martyrs may rest in peace if we harvest the plant that had been sowed by them.
We need to comprehend that the government should be formed by peoples will. There must be an authorized referendum and election consequently to know about the peoples will. The country can develop and move onward efficiently if and only if the government is liable towards the people of the country. It is only possible when the government is formed by will of people. Diplomacy and farsightedness of the leaders and the interest and awareness of the people of the nation can play the leading role for that. There is no limitation of freedom and liberty and likewise that there mustn’t be any limitation regarding democracy. Hence, partial democracy and other partial achievement may be dangerous as the partial truth is. Let us be conscious about the administration of the country, about the effort we are wasting for the country, about the ballot paper to whom we are voting, about the formation of new constitution and so on. Let’s not repeat the same mistake again and again. Let’s not make worthy sacrifice of the martyrs worthless. Let’s not make the consequences of the deadly revolution of 2062/63B.S. as the partial achievement.
