A Glimpse of Idea Action & Idea Forum

Communication is the most valuable tool granted to human beings that makes them superior than any other being. Thus various modes and means to communicate these information has been named as Information and Communications Technology. It has bridged the distances and has made possible immediate access to information, people and offices. Our organization believes that this technology can be used not only as an economic engine of growth and key of development but also as a tool for fundamental social change. It can bring greater empowerment, better transparency and devolution of public offices and institutions to every networked computer terminal. This tool could help produce an empowered citizen who will have access to all information and records having a impact on his/her life. As a consequence, ICT is an enormously powerful instrument, which helps to explore various factors and aspects of society and any organization with very less effort. A dynamic ICT literate in civic society and organizations is the foundation of development and creation of equitable and informatics society.

One of the most pressing challenges is to harness this extraordinary force, disseminate it throughout the world, and make its benefits accessible and meaningful for all humanity, basically the youth. We are all aware of the demand and necessity of ICT in human life – in education, business, social organization etc. By observing various factors, Idea Action provides ICT education/training and technical solution through its partner since 2002. In this state a group of representatives from Technical field, NGO/GOV along with youths from various educational, professional backgrounds, ethnicity and geographical region of Nepal have initiated to form organization to address the current ICT issues with the support of international community. Idea Action is working in a national level now and soon it has plans to expand its ICT issues and initiative globally.


Introduction

Idea Forum, a project of Idea Action, provides an online forum for people all over the world, empowering people by ICT to be a global citizen. It connects the world, creating opportunities, collaborating people and is concerned with changing their society and the world. In this platform, people & organizations come into the interaction with each other globally, exercising their freedom & exposing their creativity. Similarly, people post their articles & comments, read interviews, learn about events & scholarship information, make organizational partnership & so on. They post their local and global issues in Forum and Blogs. Likewise, they can send e-cards on ICT, peace, human rights, youth and other social issues. The web site has gained recognition worldwide and earned reputation in a resourceful centre.
